Keeping up to date with the literature Thread Open

By Dr. Somdutt Prasad on 27 December, 2016

One of the problems in a busy clinicians life is how to keep up with the current literature, with a busy clinical schedule, family commitments and social commitments there is often little time available to read journals, and even if we set aside time for this, how to maximise use of the time is very important in an era where the number of publications is increasing exponentially.

About the Forum
This forum has been set up to enable free frank and easy discussion amongst practicing ophthalmologists and ophthalmology trainees. Why another discussion forum, when there are already a plethora of such fora already existing on Facebook, WhattsApp and Yahoo Groups, which are very convenient. There are many reasons for this, for example in media like facebook or WhattsApp your post will move down rapidly and be difficult to identify again, should you wish to go back and review some topic discussed before. There are limitations to the number of participants on some media. Threads get mixed up and cross each other, and is sometimes difficult to understand which original post a subsequent post is referring to.
Here we will have separate topics, with comment on each organised in that thread, which will be archived so one can go back and refer to an old discussion. When active discussion finishes on one topic, that topic will be closed and archived.
We can discuss published papers and how they impact our practice, case reports, surgical videos, clinical dilemmas, seek management advice, or discuss practice issues.
Please anonymise any patient details. This forum is for Ophthalmologists only (both practicing and in training).
Please note that any frivolous, non-ophthalmology related or offensive post will be deleted.
